Linen clothing tends to fade less and last longer if you hand wash and line dry it.
However, this garment has been preshrunk, so you can machine wash and dry it, if that's how you roll, or if that's all you have time for. If you want to be more eco-conscious, wash it less often and line dry. Although, I do find that a bit of tumble dry gives it a softness (removes the crispness) that linen can have.
